In 1964, KYMCO was founded by Mr. Guang-Shu Ko as a technology transfer for Honda. With technical knowledge from Honda, KYMCO became one of Honda’s best manufacturing facilities. Eventually, the company broke off on its own and went on to be one of the largest scooter manufacturers in Taiwan. Afterward, the motorcycle brand launched its scooters and began brand marketing outside Taiwan in 1992. Currently, KYMCO has more than 3,800 employees and consistently ranks at the top of the market share for motorcycles and scooters in Taiwan for nearly two decades.
