Suzuki’s Company History
Prior to becoming the Suzuki Philippines known today, the company started as Rufino D. Antonio & Associates, Inc. in 1957. They ventured into importing appliances from Japan that later expanded to motorcycles before being wholly-owned by Suzuki Motor Company in 1985. Due to the company’s success, Suzuki Philippines took over the automobile operations of its parent company in 1999 as well. In 2016, the distribution of outboard motors would also be added.
In Japan, Suzuki Motor Company launched as Suzuki Loom Manufacturing Co. in 1909. Despite the success in the silk industry, the founder dreamed of converting to automobile manufacturing.
